Sales Bootcamp for Account Executives to Excite, Engage and Upskill

The Canada Post sales team had undergone a large change in structure, teams and accountabilities. They needed a way to quickly excite, engage and upskill their Account Executives with specialized product and industry knowledge to take on the responsibilities of their new role.

We partnered with Canada Post to develop two five-day classroom sessions customized for two main sales teams. The sessions had to be rigorous and experiential, hence the name “Bootcamp.”  The timelines were also tight – we started at the end of September and the first Bootcamp was scheduled for November.

We worked quickly with a small team of Leaders, Account Executives and SMEs to design the sessions, create objectives, themes, exercises and case studies. We also developed participant materials and a reference guide with job aids and other performance support material.

Once the sessions were developed, we worked with the Leaders and SMEs who were facilitating the training to practice and make any final refinements. The end result was two comprehensive sales training events that were executed flawlessly.

We filmed each day of training and edited the footage to create a library of 75 bite-sized, Ted-talk style videos perfect for onboarding new Account Executives or providing performance support for those needing a refresher.

The Sales Bootcamp paved the way for more proactive, consultative and collaborative Account Executives with marketing and e-commerce savvy. Participants left the sessions feeling confident in their ability to execute their new responsibilities. In fact, 96% of Account Executives reported that they were satisfied or extremely satisfied with the training.

In addition, the learning team strengthened their relationship with the sales team, opening up more opportunities to work together in the future.
